Who We Are

Elisha’s Outcast Eagles Website is published by The Open Door Fellowship of The Christian Spirit Inc., a church in North Central Massachusetts. We are of little or no consequence among the array of traditional denominational Protestant churches, Charismatic and Pentecostal varieties, the Roman Catholic Parishes, and the 21st Century variations of Mega and Corporation church outfits that exist in our area of the U.S. of A. But over our 40 years of ministering God’s Word we have had contact and conflict with parts of all of them. We have no political clout and this has never been our aim or wish. We command no respect from the Christian powers that be though we have fellowshipped and even been ordained as ministers within them, only to abandon our hopes in them and withdraw from them in search for a more true course according the the Gospel with the guidance of the Holy Ghost wanting a more true and perfect course according to the Word of the Bible and its instruction having to do with the final days before Jesus Christ’s promised return from heaven to the earth.

There is no earthly reason why those living around us should flock to hear our voice, no worldly gain or riches they can receive by rubbing elbows with us. We consider ourselves a small “ark” floating safely, if not precariously, among the seas of a dark and troubled world, tucked in the midst of a growing number of ‘apostate’ variety of churches made up of ecumenical denominations ranging from the megalithic Roman Catholic Papal Church, traditional Protestant  conservative churches, to the full array of various Ecumenical, Evangelical, Charismatic churches of the post World War II modern era.

In many ways God has shut us in, called us away from this degraded world and its self righteous religions and the rising flood of all sorts of anti-god anti-faith sentiment. Among our life’s energetic focus is that we learn with boldness to wait – to wait patiently for God’s saving grace, which is, Jesus’s incremental return, as it is declared in the Holy Bible.

By “incremental return” we mean his return shall come not only in stages but in different forms and means of His presence and influence. First off He is announcing His return now, through His Word. This is a ‘form’ of not only His influence but a proof of his presence among mankind in this very moment. It is the reality of His tangible existence in the midst of us. It is the realization in this time of His speaking and encouraging mankind to believe and heed His voice as dutiful children might heed the voice of a parent. And what He is declaring daily by His voice in the Bible and through His manifest prophecies is that His coming is not only imminent, but that He is here now and that His return to earth is happening in incremental stages; each stage separate but all parts within the same whole, which is His ultimate return in body, soul and spirit to reign over the earth in truth, righteousness and love, which these three are all parts of Jesus Christ the Son of God. Each one of the aspects of Christ’s return also has a special pertinence for a specially targeted segment of people of which the aspect of Christ’s return will have direct effect or consequences. God, in His Word has likened the end-times resurrection to a time of harvest.

Right now God is declaring Christ’s return to all mankind by way of His universal judgments through the six paradigms of prophecy, as He promised he would do in prophecies throughout the Bible but especially in the 12 minor prophets and the books of Daniel, the Gospels and the Books of Peter, Jude, Timothy and Acts and especially the Book of Revelation. The six paradigms of Antichrist, World, Church, Israel, Travel and Knowledge and Phenomenon are the general means God is utilizing at this time to make his presence known while announcing clearly and decisively the imminent return  of His Son, Jesus

After this, the second stage of His return will happening in, as the Scripture denotes, “the twinkling of an eye” to snatch away alive those that have loved Him more than their own lives. We are told that Christ will not come back to earth at this time, but rather will appear in the clouds undetected but by a few to take them home to be with God forever. This is commonly called by both the world and the churches – the Rapture. This aspect of the Return has been identified by Scripture as the first fruits harvest. It is fitting that those who have brought forth fruits of righteousness of Christ shall be taken as the first-fruits harvest. Just as the world over, as with our New England farms from Maine to Connecticut. There is the first fruits harvest of asparagus and varieties of greens so there is a rapturous harvest of glorious fruit before a general harvest.

Then the next phase of Christ’s presence and power on earth will come during a general harvest of end times souls, those that have entered the severe heat and dry times of the man Antichrist’s brief rule. Few as the firstfruits number shall be this, we are told, shall be a great number of souls who have rejected the Antichrist at the cost of their very fleshly lives in favor of entering into life eternal. The pressure will be tremendous on these beleaguered souls. It would have been better for them had they died to self and were among the few first fruits harvest, for now they must fight off their fears and the enormous pressure to deny God, take the Mark of the ‘Beast’ and bow to his will and worship Antichrist and the World. But Christ will be with any who can give up their life for His sake. This is the stage of Christ’s return to earth which can be likened to the general harvest.

The conclusive stage in the return of Christ then, is when he returns to earth at Armageddon to defeat the remnant army of Antichrist and establish his righteous rule on earth in the newly built temple in Jerusalem. Upon His arrival on earth Jesus shall cleanse the temple which Antichrist has defiled. He will set all things right and will begin the righteous reign of truth and love, without deceit or taking bribes, on earth.

We only believe what the Bible, and particularly the prophets and the Book of Revelation all declare. Why should we not be dedicated to the righteous and true judge? We must choose. The EOE chooses to believe and walk in this reality that is unfolded even now as we speak. God’s Son, Jesus Christ, is coming back soon!

We are among the few who wait on these glorious days to be fulfilled, among the few that bask in the light of His lively presence even in this moment. It is a good hope. The only hope. We do not wait for Man or the Church to reform the degradation that has taken root on the earth, a degradation which the world and most of the churches have not only insisted upon, but have done. We do not hope in making a kingdom here on earth that will be fit for the return of God’s Savior,Jesus Christ. Only God can do this.

We have published magazines from our home based church, have held public meetings, conducted weddings, water baptisms, seen souls saved, been involved in spiritual battles and deliverances, prophesied, our old men have dreamed dreams and our women have seen visions. We have witnessed the healing touch of the Savior. But we have also seen the betrayal of the Savior by those he has loved, weathered the storms of false brethren and deceivers, rejected lying “angels of light” sent to confuse by Satan himself. Through it all God has allowed us by His grace to practice pure religion as He defines pure religion – “helping and visiting the fatherless and widows in their affliction, while staying unspotted by the ‘world’”.

Our passion has been to praise God in print and publicly among the churches and the world, and to teach rigorously His prophetic word telling all those who might listen, that Jesus is about to call His Bride home and to return to earth to judge the unrighteous and set up a thousand year reign on earth, a government of righteous love, a great society of freedom allowing friendship with God.

All this and more has been done in the character and reality of being a simple and pure home church. God has given us the faith and blessed us in being able to minister in the most simple of ways, that pure simplicity that is in Christ. Our greatest hope today is that we could deliver to the forsaken (both in churches or the world) the invitation to come to The Marriage Supper of the Lamb.

About Our Fellowship

We are not a denomination or associated in any way with the likes of Armstrong-ism or any other heretical anti-biblical movement, church, or group. We are a small, simple church in the biblical orthodox sense of the word. However, we are not now affiliated with any of the orthodox Evangelical or Catholic denominations and assemblies, choosing to disassociate ourselves in all ways from the modern ‘Laodiceanism’ that has pervaded every denomination. If we have an affiliation it is only with other ‘Philadelphians’, though we cannot tell where they are or might be residing at this time. For we sense that those who are living in expectation of the Rapture are living in little Noah-like arks, anonymous, waiting to ‘rise above’ the flood waters of the Antichrist which are already flooding the earth.

Our fellowship began in 1972 with a former Roman Catholic priest and his Episcopalian wife. In forty years there have been two pastor-ships: Founders LeRoy and Eloise Gardenier and Terry and Joanne Smith. We took on the name The Open Door Fellowship in early 1982 and incorporated with articles of organization, registering with the state of Massachusetts in October 1991 under the name The Christian Spirit, Inc. 

LeRoy (1931-2000) spent his first twenty-five years during the 1950s, 60s and early 70’s as an ordained priest of the Augustinian order in the Roman Catholic Church (four of them spent at the Vatican where he was ordained by the hand of Pope Pius XII in 1957). After careers as a teacher in Catholic schools and serving in the Naval Reserves, and as the East Coast revival preacher for the church-at-large, Leroy became a pastor in the 2,200-family church in Andover, Mass. During his tenure there he represented the church on Ecumenical Councils, Pastoral Counseling groups, and matters of the time concerning Christian relationships of Protestant and Catholic endeavors and ministries of ecumenical nature. In 1972 he became director of the Movement of the Holy Spirit, being then conducted regularly at “The Christian Formation Center” in Andover. It was there that his life was changed when he met Jesus. (His testimony can be found on this site.) There he also met Eloise, who had prayed for him (though he was the director of the Classes on the Holy Spirit) and he was baptized in the Holy Spirit. As they say, the rest is history. It changed his life and his ideas and perception of serving God.

Within a couple of years he applied and received a dispensation from all Catholic vows from Pope Paul VI. Subsequently, LeRoy was ordained a minister in the United Evangelical Churches of America and as a bishop in The Pentecostal Churches of America. For the next 30 years he rigorously, in spite of bouts with cancer and being confined in his last eight years to crutches and then a wheelchair, held down a full time job while travelling to churches to teach and preach, while weekly preaching the gospel to the congregation that regularly met in his home.

Eloise (1926-2010 – you can find her testimony here) had been immersed in ecumenism as an Episcopalian in the years that followed World War II. Like LeRoy, she also left her faith. Both had been born-again and each subsequently found their way out of the ‘denominational’ church during the great outpouring of the Holy Spirit of the 1960’s and 70’s. They met, married and their path took them into what Christ Himself has identified as The Philadelphia Church. From the start it was the baptism of the Holy Ghost and the call of the ‘Bride of Christ’ that motivated and inspired their faith; and a church was established in their home. Since that time, both have gone home to their reward. And the sojourn of what we believe is ‘one’ of the almost invisible Philadelphia churches (that are tucked away, almost anonymous among the other churches) has been one of great adventure in the Spirit.

Terry and Joanne – Conducting the pastoral duties of the church today are Terry and Joanne, after taking on some pastoral duties during Leroy and Eloise’s life. Terry having served as deacon for twenty years. He acted as co-pastor with LeRoy in the 90’s. He and Joanne published The Christian Spirit Magazine from ’92-’02, working as a voice for the rapture, watchmen of prophecy, and conducting services, ministering, preaching and teaching, while raising five children and keeping full-time jobs. Terry worked as a sports writer and is author of the book Revelation: Pure and Simple. Terry preached in churches, all the while urging belief in the message of the bride of Christ and for faith in the message of The Philadelphia faith. In the mid-nineties they were co-founders and active in the Pentecostal organization: North East Christian Fellowship. No matter where they went, they called to people in and outside the churches to reach for “the prize of the high calling that is in Christ Jesus”. Terry is an ordained minister in the Pentecostal Church. He and his wife now conduct the pastoral duties of the Open Door Fellowship.

What We Are About

As our name implies we are a small church which now finds itself on the outside of the community of denominational Christian churches. This is not to say we are no longer Christians; but rather, we have become outcasts from the churches. We have spent in excess of forty years mingling and fellowshipping with literally every orthodox variety of denomination and assembly. (See: About Us-‘Who We Are for details concerning some history of our relationship  with the churches.) Now, it seems we stand alone; the only exception being ‘invisible’ fellowships unknown to us wherever they might be found. We can no longer abide the modern ‘faiths’, all those pretentious self-serving pulpits of American Evangelicals, Protestants and Catholics pushing their mongrel mixture of liberal / conservative confusion, as if they invented themselves the very wisdom of Jesus Christ.

Nevertheless, we stand with Christ. He is the one and only. He remains the champion of the underdog, the helper of forsaken souls. He still cares for those who have been battered by world violence, threatened by oppression of the rich and powerful, and slapped around by the hypocrisy of religion and churches; and the tyranny of worldly political and military powers. He remains the champion of the needy and oppressed soul, those that long for a fair deal and a soft touch, those being overwhelmed, overcome by the distortions of human condition by the hectic nature of modern life.

If your hopes are dead or dying, if you feel the world’s promise to provide for your health and welfare are all vain – we suggest you take Christ up on His offer to join Him at eating at the table of His love.

If you feel like circumstances and mistakes have made you a castaway adrift in the world, we can offer real encouragement. This is what we are about.

There is hope. We too are put off by bogus promises of greedy, obnoxious, materialistic prosperity preachers who can not deliver on their guarantees and merely fleece the sheep and soak the people of their badly needed resources. This message of arrogant Christian bullhorns are bringing people to ruin. We are not impressed by fruitless, never ending promises of utopia from lying politicians. We are not impressed by political loyalties that bang the drum for unrighteous politicians and flags being waved for national causes. Jesus never declared himself as a tory, an imam, a free socialist, a Republican or Democrat. We at Elisha’s Outcast Eagles encourage people not only to rely upon God’s love but return it to Him without splitting loyalties with man’s futile solutions. We have no hope that the World and its plethora of humanistic ‘gospels’ and fantasy religions, and its political idealism, can save mankind from the things that are descending upon our volatile, degenerate  world.

We invite you to let Christ become your God. This is not an invitation to religion, but an invitation to a direct relationship with God Himself – to give your heart and soul to “The Man” – the Son of God Himself, Jesus Christ. To quote one of our own songs: “There are no dues to pay, no church to play!”              

LOVE GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART
If you read no further, or hear nothing more, we implore you to find out the only stipulations that are required for accepting the invitation to life, which is stated simply in the Bible’s invitation to God’s wedding feast of His Son Jesus. We urge you to read about those things which the parable of the wedding feast (and its other prophetic references) say a person should do, we invite you to accept the gracious offer which the father of the bridegroom is sending out to the lonely and despairing ones who are on the outside of conventional churches. For we are about this duty of God’s servants at the end-times to:

The invitation to which we refer is what the Bible terms, ‘the Marriage Supper of the Lamb’. It is in reference to a parable that Jesus told to his disciples. He first invited his ‘friends’ to his wedding, those people who had accepted his benefits and kindness and his hand in fellowship and friendship. But when it came time to honor him, to do as He wished, it turned out they were too busy; too busy with their own cares and lusts, too busy to listen to him. Worried about their own reputation and their own vision about the way things ought to go, they would not follow him, have not followed him, though they have been quite content to use his name and authority to get what they have wanted for their own personal gain, their own vision of success in this world, their own worldly cause.

The sum and substance of this invitation might be declared in the following simple terms: God asked of his supposed friends to put away their own agendas and accept his gracious invitation to come to him and his son to be counted among family and friends as his plan of salvation for mankind comes to its dynamic and celebratory conclusion.

In this declaration of the Marriage Supper of the Lamb the invitation is extended to the wayfarers of the end times just before the return of Jesus. Because those who claimed to be his family and friends have shunned his heartfelt appeal to come to him and joyously honor his son with their presence, the bridegroom’s father is angry. Livid is not too strong a word. In this parable told by Jesus, the Father’s first requisite is to fill the hall on His son’s wedding day with people that actually love His son with a simple true love, not as his supposed friends who had a fickle love, but as people formerly estranged, but showing up with soul and heart, people that would love him and his generous father and appreciate being allowed to partake of their feast of life along with the son’s bride.

He is looking to find people who will be willing to do as he suggests, to do the simple things he asks; for they will understand that He is not a tyrant, but as a good and kind father he is for their welfare and health, and ultimately will give them eternal life with happiness in a place where the second death will never be able to conquer them.

In the parable, which is prophetic and is now happening in this hour, the father sends the relatively few remaining faithful servants (those who are outcasts from the unfaithful, those who are but friends in name only) out into the streets and highways to find anyone who might be faithful, willing to respect his invitation by complying to his simple request.

In Luke 14 it is indicated that the people the father seeks are generally in a humble condition; by no means are they getting along well in this world. He does not want anything from them, to use them, or enlist them for his work, but He merely wants them to respond to his invitation to come in out of the cold, to bow to his kind majesty and reverence the bridegroom. He invites them to sit at the wedding supper of his son, to partake of the healing powers of the spiritual food being served up at the wedding feast, a feast that is entirely prepared sitting hot,  ready to be served and eaten.

This Is Now That Time

Everything is good to go, the meal is cooked the table set, the espoused bride and groom are eager to be wed. The time has come. The only thing lacking is quests to fill the hall, delighted friends to dance and party and toast the bride and groom, to delight in this great event, long since prophesied by the father’s servants the prophets.

What The Outcast Eagles Are All About

This is the basic commission of the Outcast Eagles: to let those on the outside of church know of the invitation and the simple conditions for accepting it as time winds down and as the forecast prophesied judgments continue to descend upon the world everywhere and upon every sphere of human existence all around the globe. (according to the Science of Prophistory)

These web pages are dedicated to inviting the unchurched to get to know Jesus Christ in terms of simple reality, without paying the dues of all the religion that the modern American church has foisted upon all. Any place or church which calls itself Christian without
teaching, first and foremost, with all due effort, that it is the primary concern of all its people to love God first with their whole mind and soul and understanding and strength, in short, with their whole being at all times, is not worthy to call itself Christian, in spite of what they may think or insist. Instead they are preaching that you can rely on their love for you, that their power to love you ‘from the bottom of their heart’ is what you can trust. Even though, nothing, nothing is more unreliable than the love of Man. The Bible is a running declaration of this fundamental fact. This is why the second command of God is that we learn and strive and promise to let him empower us to love one another as he has loved us. It is only by allowing his infusion of power by his Spirit, through a changed heart, they we may be able to love as He has loved us.

We urge you to ‘put on Christ’ as the Bible describes it in spiritual terms. Jesus did say that loving God with all your being and effort and striving to love one another as he says love is, will make it certain that we keep the other matters of his will and insure our eternal life. Put
on the clothing of the bride, come to the Wedding Supper of the Lamb. This is what we at
the Outcast Eagles are all about. There are no dues to pay you owe us nothing, you owe it
to yourself. He can pick you up, you can experience real love if you will fall into the
Master’s arms. If you will put on the wedding garments you will be able to sit and eat at his table and be a partaker of His love. Prophecy is telling us that all is prepared, the wedding
is ready to go.

We further wish to help the disenfranchised know how to go about responding to this greatest of all invitations. When We Came About

We suggest that the time to accept the invite is today. It is time to put on the wedding garments, for the Lord’s Return is at hand. We encourage you to look up, look to the things that are happening in prophecy and you will see that His coming is upon us.

Our roots go back to 1972 and the outpouring of The Holy Spirit which came as a deluge from heaven upon all the world-wide churches in those remarkable years in the 1960s and 70s. Our ministry from that time has been to actively promote the prophetic word of the Bible while passively viewing the signs of Christ’s return as the cascaded down upon this present world.

In 1972 Rev. LeRoy Gardenier applied for and received a papal dispensation from his Augustinian priestly vows and together with Eloise M. Smith, later to be his wife, began a home fellowship/prayer group in Eloise’s home in Tewksbury, Massachusetts.

This was the start of what evolved into a functioning body of believers, ministering and being ministered to in full scriptural fashion with the offices, functionaries, worship and gifts being ministered by the Holy Ghost in an orderly consistent ministry of Christ.

God gathered together a diversified group of believers ranging in age from teen-agers to an octogenarian. While small, it was a wide mix of nationalities, races, talents, education and skills, ranging in education from public education to college grads and doctors. We were made up from time to time of tradesmen, students, journalists, technicians, office workers, janitors, archivists, artists, farmers, businessmen, teachers, real estate agents, technical engineers and more.

Although we may not look or act like stereotypical church folk we are proudly orthodox concerning Scriptural doctrine and belief. We ascribe to the perfection of the 66 books of the Bible as presented in the time-tested version known as the King James Bible.

Originally dubbed The Christian Spirit Fellowship we have only recently taken up the name: Elisha’s Outcast Eagles. We have always believed that:

Just as important, we have always been highly serious about our scriptural faith as well as our allegiance to Jesus Christ personally, which includes above all that we are most serious about having a personal relationship with Christ through being born-again. This is our beginning and our end.

We have always declared that Jesus is the only bonding agent that can bind relationships together with an eternal knot which can never be undone or broken. It is only Jesus Christ’s saving grace coupled with the individual’s desire, which he also builds in their heart, to find true spiritual nurture and fellowship, that has guided our hope and purpose for better than forty years.

We were established during the great revival of the Holy Ghost in these last days. We take our precedent for ministry from the earliest and most holy churches of all.

Yet, we are not surprised that to today’s orthodox Christian we seem untraditional and unconventional. Though we have had a traditional public church location, and been involved with traditional church establishments, we have always believed that the church starts and ends in the home. Home churches were the mainstays of the primitive and early churches of Christ. We note the epistles that either address themselves to a church in the home (as with Philemon and John’s elect lady) or the references in scripture to such people as the man Stephanas, the friends of Paul that couple Priscilla and Aquila, and to the woman who had meetings in the very house of Caesar himself.  Up ‘til the third century it was disallowed by Roman Law for unauthorized groups to own property or buildings, or to have public gatherings without permission. It took more than two centuries after the resurrection of Christ and the day of Pentecost, before it became legal for churches to go public. It is a testimony to the ‘church in the home’ that Christianity flourished in those days to the extent that it can make claim to being the golden age of The Church.  Many churches conducted their services and ministry across the Roman Empire from the home of a gracious patrician or converted patron of the gospel. Other churches were held in hidden or secluded places like fields, caves and various other inconspicuous places like barnes and temples of provincial gods, gods displaced by people who were worshipping the one true God, the living Christ.

As time went on the home group grew in numbers and shape and form. Everything we enjoyed as saints was attributed directly to gifts from God by way of the Holy Ghost. As promised by Jesus himself, the Holy Ghost guided us and is always faithful to guide us into all truth. We have only had to be faithful to allow Him to do so. He opened up the prophetic word to us and revealed to us the importance of the times in which we live. He instructed us in the faith of the end-times Church. He has personally instructed us in doctrines such as: What is the Church? What is Communion? What is the Rapture and what type of Christian it takes to be among the Raptured? Not to mention what is the Baptism in the Holy Ghost, how to walk with Him, and why it is so vital that we listen to and obey The Spirit.

The Lord has not made us isolationists. In our history we have reached out to many in the church and to individuals not in the church. We have gone to bible studies and prayer meetings in people’s homes when invited. We published a monthly magazine, The Christian Spirit for over 10 years, which presented a forum for any Christian to publish testimonies or other items to edify the brethren (much of The Outcast Eagles invitation portion of this website is made up from the archives of The Christian Spirit Magazine). The Christian Spirit Mag presented many of the teachings which the Holy Ghost had blessed us with the 70’s,80’s, 90’s and during the nineties and into the new Millennium. The Open Door Fellowship was a charter member of New England Christian Fellowship, a consortium of a dozen (mostly Pentecostal) churches from northern New England states, including Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine, dedicated to networking with those of Biblical and Spiritual foundations in Christ.

It was in the 2010’s that as The Open Door Fellowship we occupied a storefront church in Fitchburg, Ma. from where we preached and taught on end-times prophecy, the judgment and perilous times in which we live, worldwide antichrist advances, and especially the truth concerning the Bride of Christ and the coming Rapture of faithful bride-like believers and the impending judgment declared in the book of Revelation that must come upon the world and the peoples of the ill-advised Churches.

As time and prophecy has progressed God has perfected our publishing of the end-times message into a science which Pastor Terry Myers Smith has dubbed Prophistory. The prime purpose of presenting this scriptural science is to encourage people who have been turned off to the Laodicean Church of gimme faith; or put off by arrogant modern Christianity; or have just been bruised by the crazy things of this cold modern world with its broken homes and failed love; or held captive by sin and confusion; or left alone by life’s cruel circumstances; to offer them an invite to come to God, to be invited to the Marriage Supper of Christ and to walk in faith and truth without regard to the insanity of the world which already holds every man woman and child hostage to its evil crazy grip. Our church forums today is this website. The Churches are deaf to God’s plea, they have all gone their own way cared for their own prosperity, it’s own needs and not the needs of the downtrodden and forsaken. It preaches a weird gospel. But God today still helps, still cares about, still saves the poor and the needy. This is where we are at in these last days of the approaching judgment of God, living in this totally degraded world.  We are advising the disenfranchised and disillusioned to leave religion, even the prominent Laodicea religion of Christianity behind, we are inviting anyone that can hear, to come freely to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.

Where We Came From

From our home based church God has used unconventional means in ministering to individuals which He may have had no other way to reach. God allowed one of our elders to suffer through cancer so He could reach a cancer surgeon who might not have heeded the call to salvation any other way. It seems almost trite to see these things expressed in just a few sentences here in this introduction but assuredly such things are not small or trite. Every endeavor has required much prayer and a certain amount of picking up of the cross to die and deny self.

We believe that our heart ought to be a church in and of itself. Then our home, then and only then could we ever be part of church and part of the ‘body’ of Christ.

Within this realization God has led us to worship Him, seek Him, pray to Him, be taught by Him, to receive from Him and to serve Him. It all begins in a single heart.

By publishing and broadcasting this doctrine we have baptized some into this simple basic Christian faith. We have ministered both spiritual and physical healings, have seen healings and wide-ranging gifts given by the Spirit to those who asked in faith. We did not believe that only public church-grounds could be the place that God’s hand would be permitted to move. From our homes we have been able to perform pure religion by providing sanctuary for the widows and fatherless so that the Holy Ghost might truly be able to ‘visit’ them in their affliction. With this it has always been the individual who decided whether they would adhere to God’s Will.

Where has this primarily taken place, but from within people’s homes, in their personal lives and in their hearts. From our homes we have been able to serve Him with all our being and all our substance. This is the beauty and benefit of having a church in the home. All the ingredients for receiving, fellowshipping and serving God are requisite, always at one’s fingertips and in the forefront of the spiritual consciousness. We believe that the very definition of church is to be separated from the World, this is the second part of pure religion in the eyes of God. Jesus said, where ever two or three are gathered together in His name that He would be present. Church only exists in truth and power when Jesus is there, present, lively and powerful. Where two or three are gathered in His name there He will be. That is having Church. Two people subservient and submissive to Christ’s will, that is the power of His authoritative name and it constitutes ‘church’. When two in a household are in this frame of mind and heart, their heart really is in it, then, a church lives in that home. The joint testimony of The Open Door Fellowship is that a home church is not only legitimate, but it is rudimentary to the faith of Jesus Christ and God will provide for it in the full gospel sense “according to His riches in glory”.

It is our great hope that the content of this site will penetrate the hearts and minds of all its readers and that the presentation will fully enhance each brother and sister’s walk of faith. We hope that all who visit this site will be edified and above all helped to be made rapture-ready for the time of Christ’s appearing in the clouds draws close, very close.

Our Relationship With Church
We are of little or no consequence among the mega churches in our area. We have no political clout; we command no respect that would cause Christians to flock to hear our voice. We consider ourselves a small ark floating precariously among the seas of a dark and troubled world.

In many ways God has shut us in and we are adrift. We wait with reverential fear and calm patience for our deliverance on that glorious day when Jesus shall appear in the clouds to take us home. We wait with patience, not fretting whether Christ shall appear in this watch or the next. Some of us have gone home to our reward, the rest of us wait, knowing that we shall all receive our reward and crowns of righteousness together in that glorious moment which is clearly depicted in the pages of Revelation. Then we shall sing the song of the redeemed before God’s heavenly throne.

While we wait, God has been gracious to us, allowing us to publish and preach His prophetic Word to any and all with ears to hear. We have published magazines from our home church, have held meetings, seen souls saved and witnessed the healing touch of the Savior. He has allowed us to practice pure religion – helping and visiting the fatherless and widows in their affliction. We have engaged in prison ministry. We have praised God publicly among the churches and taught rigorously His prophetic word telling all those who might listen: Jesus is about to return for His Bride. All this and more has been done in the character and reality of being a simple and pure home church. God has given us the faith and blessed us in being able to minister in the most simple of ways, that pure simplicity of Christ.

Our first pastor, LeRoy, left the Roman Catholic Church and received a papal dispensation from his Augustinian Roman Catholic vows; together with Eloise, later to be his wife, they began a home fellowship/prayer group in Eloise’s home in Tewksbury, MA. This began the road to what has evolved into a functioning body of believers ministering and being ministered to in full scriptural fashion with the offices, functionaries, worship and gifts being ministered by the Holy Ghost in an orderly consistent ministry of Christ. God has gathered together a diversified group of believers ranging in age from teen-agers to octogenarians. While we are small we are of a wide mix of nationalities, races, talents, education and skills, ranging in education from public education to college grads. We are tradesmen, students, journalists, technicians, office workers, janitors, archivists, artists, farmers, businessmen, teachers, real estate agents and engineers. Over time it is out of this eclectic mix that Elisha’s Band of Outcast Eagles has been formed.

Although we may not look or act like stereotypical church folk, let us assure you that we are highly serious about our faith in Jesus Christ and, above all, we are serious about having a personal relationship with Christ through being born-again. Jesus is the only bonding agent that can bind relationships together with an eternal knot which can never be undone or broken. It is only Jesus Christ’s saving grace and then the desire He put in each individual’s heart to find true spiritual nurture and fellowship, that guided each of us to be part of the body of The Open Door Fellowship. We believe in the importance of one finding their place in the body of Christ and then being true to its purpose and the driving force it should exert on our soul. Every brother and sister from the oldest to youngest in the Lord can testify of how God personally brought him or her to this home-centered church we have dubbed, The Open Door Fellowship. Each of us personally identify with what we call, ‘The Philadelphia Faith’ as mentioned in Revelation 3: 6-13.

It may seem to the modern Christian that God has done something very untraditional and unconventional with The Open Door Fellowship but, in fact, home churches were the mainstay of the primitive and early churches of Christ. Take note of the epistles in the bible that address themselves to a church in the home, as with Philemon and the letter to ‘John’s elect lady’, or make mention of such people like the man Stephanas or the couple Priscilla and Aquila. It was disallowed by Roman Law for groups to own property or buildings or to have public gatherings without permission of the emperor into the third century AD. Many churches conducted their services and ministry from the home of a gracious patrician patron, even a few of the emperor’s relatives were known to have held church in their home.

Church fits well, can even flourish in the home setting. Granted, a church in the home is under scrutiny by the truth. In the home setting there is no way to hide from the truth of living the gospel, clichés find no way of covering over the facts.

God has instructed us in the faith of the end-times Church. He has personally instructed us in doctrines such as: What is the Church? What is Communion? What is the Rapture and who gets raptured? He gives spiritual gifts – dreams, prophecies, instruction, tongues and interpretations to the individual.

The Lord has not made us isolationists. We have reached out to many in the church, as well as individuals outside the churches. We have gone to bible studies and prayer meetings in people’s homes when invited. We published from our home a monthly magazine,The Christian Spirit for over ten years, which presented a forum for any Christian to publish testimonies or other items to edify the brethren.

That publication served as a vehicle to broadcast many of the teachings which the Holy Ghost has blessed us by (and with) for over thirty years of having a church in our home. Through the publication of The Christian Spirit we became involved in the New England Christian Fellowship, a conference of more than a dozen (mostly Pentecostal) churches from Northern New England seeking to network and edify other Christian brethren, not just riding out our own personal lives within the confines of secluded pews. The Open Door Fellowship also occupied a storefront church in Fitchburg, MA for three years. In that time we sought to have mutual fellowship with local churches – without response.

We believe that the very definition of church is to be separated from the World. This is part of pure religion as the bible describes it. Jesus told us that where ever two or three are gathered together in His name that He would be present. Church only exists in truth and power when Jesus is there, present, lively and powerful; healing, enlightening and teaching. Where two or three are gathered together in His name – there He will be. That is having Church, not just sitting in pews and listening to the same canned threadbare mantra week in and week out. Church is ‘being with Him’. When two in a household are in this frame of mind and heart, and their hearts really in it, then there is a church thing happening; this is what makes a home a church because there is church happening and living in that home. Church could happen in a bus station, at a ballgame, in prison. It is like gold: church is where you find it. Church is the assembling of ‘called out ones’ – those called out from the world’s desperation of the vain, of hopelessness of death, to life and the knowledge of eternal things.

The joint testimony of The Open Door Fellowship is that a home church is not only legitimate, but it is rudimentary to the faith of Jesus Christ. It starts and ends, in a way, with having church in your heart. Then you can have church in your home when another heart joins in, then you may have church outside.

It is our great hope that this site and its contents will help the lonely and converted heart enjoy a greater personal relationship with Christ, especially those who have been outcasts and castaways of the churches, so that they may have the theatre of their heart turned into a lively church that communes with the living God day and night, night and day wherever they may be. Why We Preach The Invitation
While we wait with patience not fretting whether Christ shall appear in this moment of our watching, or in some distant day, we strive to keep His command to “occupy until He comes”.

Some of them among us who have been waiting have gone home to their reward. The rest of us wait, occupying life and maintaining hope until He come, or until we are gathered to Him in the bliss of life hereafter. Regardless, this we expect and know by faith, that we who are faithful and true shall all receive our crowns of glory and our fitting reward together in that glorious moment which is clearly depicted in the promises of Christ in the Bible and its final pages of the Book of Revelation. It is then that we shall sing the song of redemption before God’s heavenly throne.

Why do we publish these pages? Because we have been sent by the Father to invite anyone who will be inclined to accept His invite to the marriage Supper of the Lamb, even Christ Himself. The Christian multitudes of all the collective denominations have rejected the invite. They have gone to do their own business, far too busy watching out for their own interest than to be excited about what God is actually doing with his Son and His Son;s primary business. Matthew 24 and Luke 14 declare God the Father’s consternation with his unfaithful people. God commissions his faithful servants to invite the people estranged, the people outside on the highways and byways to come and freely partake of the marriage supper. This more than insinuates partaking of the festivities it decrees that they shall be friends of Christ’s, and thereby partakers of eternal salvation. The only stipulation is that one put on the garments of salvation – that is eternal life through Christ.

This was long age prophesied that it would be the will of the Father to do so by commissioning His Son’s very own faithful and true servants, otherwise identified as His true and worthy disciples. This is why we speak these words, preach these words, and issue the invitation through the science of Prophistory, which speaks clearly that the time of Christ’s return is now at hand.This is why we have printed in this page’s sidebar the two scriptural passages of the Marriage Supper, one from Matthew, the other in Luke, which tell of the rarely acknowledged promise of God to the latter-day disenfranchised people, who have been turned off by the ecstatic selfishness of the varieties of end-times card-board cutout Christian. It is because one might consider honoring God and Christ by simply coming to Him and reverencing Him as the one and only true God. That a person might hear and read these pages and become Christ’s friend  in deed.This is the reason why we say all that we say in these pages called Elisha’s Outcast Eagles.

While we wait, God heals us in our suffering and aids us in our endurance to wait upon this day that is surely coming. He has been and will continue to be gracious to us, allowing us to publish and preach His prophetic Word to any that have ears to hear. We are outcasts from both world and mega church for we are as the church of Philadelphia in the third chapter of Revelation. We are small and of little strength, yet we have lived and flourished in His marvelous business.

The invitation to which you are called is what the Bible terms, ‘the Marriage Supper of the Lamb’. It is in reference to a parable that Jesus told to his disciples. He first invited his ‘friends’ to his wedding, those people who had accepted his benefits and kindness and his hand in fellowship and friendship. But when it came time to honor him, it turned out they were too busy; too busy with their own cares and lusts, too busy to listen to him. Worried about their own reputation and their own vision about the way things ought to go, they would not follow him, have not followed him, though they have been quite content to use his name and authority to get what they have wanted.

The sum and substance of this invitation might be declared in the following simple terms: God asked of his supposed friends to put away their own agendas and accept his gracious invitation to come to him and his son to be counted among family and friends as his plan of salvation for mankind comes to its dynamic and celebratory conclusion.

Because those who claimed to be his family and friends have shunned his heartfelt appeal to come to him and joyously honor his son with their presence, the bridegroom’s father is angry. Livid is not too strong a word. His first requisite is to fill the hall on His son’s wedding day with people that actually love Him and His son with their whole being, not as his supposed friends who only had a fickle love, but as people formerly estranged, but now showing up with soul and heart, people that would love him for the kind and generous father that he is, to come to them, to his son and to the son’s bride. He is looking to find people who will be willing to do as he suggests, to do the simple things he asks; for they will understand that He is not a tyrant, but as a good and kind father he cares for their welfare and health, and ultimately will give them eternal life with happiness in a place where the second death will never be able to conquer them. (Revelation 2:11 & Revelation 20:6 KJV) “Thou hast chosen that good part and it shall not be taken away from you!” Luke 10:42

In the parable, which is prophetic and is now happening in this hour, the father sends the relatively few remaining faithful servants, those who are outcasts from the unfaithful friends out into the streets and highways to find anyone who might be faithful, willing to respect his invitation by complying to his simple request. In Luke 14 it is indicated that the people the father seeks are generally in a humble condition; by no means are they getting along well in this world. He does not want anything from them, to use them, or enlist them for his work. He merely wants them to respond to his invitation to come in out of the cold, to bow to his kind majesty and reverence the bridegroom of all time, to sit at the wedding supper of his son, to partake of the healing powers of the spiritual food being served up at the wedding feast which is all prepared and sits ready to be served and eaten.

Everything is good to go, the meal is cooked, the table set, the espoused bride
and groom are eager to be wed. The time has come. The only thing lacking is
quests to fill the hall, delighted friends to dance and party and toast the bride and
groom, to delight in this great event, long since prophesied by the father’s
servants, the prophets.

This is the basic commission of the Outcast Eagles: to let those on the outside of the church know of the invitation and the simple conditions for accepting it as time winds down and as forecast prophesied judgments continue to descend upon the world everywhere and upon every sphere of human existence all around the globe.

These web pages are dedicated to inviting the unchurched to get to know Jesus Christ in terms of simple reality, without paying the dues of all the religion that the modern American church has foisted upon us all. Any place or church that calls itself Christian without teaching, first and foremost with all diligence, that it is the primary concern of all its people to love God first with their whole mind, soul, understanding and strength, with their whole being at all times, is not worthy to call itself Christian, in spite of what they may think or insist. Instead they are preaching that you can rely on their love for you, that their power to love you ‘from the bottom of their heart’ is what you can trust. However, nothing is more unreliable than the love of Man. The Bible is a running declaration of this fundamental fact. This is why the second command of God is that we learn and strive and promise to let him empower us to love one another as he has loved us. It is only by allowing his infusion of power by his Spirit, through a changed heart, they we may be able to love as He has loved us.

We urge you to ‘put on Christ’ as the Bible describes it in spiritual terms. Jesus did say that loving God with all your being and effort and striving to love one another as he says love is, will make it certain that we keep the other matters of his will and insure our eternal life. Put on the clothing of the bride and groom parties of Christ, come to the Wedding Supper that is prepared and ready to go. Now, we hope to turn your eye to the ‘nature of the special garments’ the father provides for his new friends at the marriage supper.

How One Can Accept The Invitation For

PUTTING ON THE GARMENTS

The above are the spiritual things we must accept, the things which the invited guest must ‘put on’, if you will. The guest must will to know God and do what he requests. One must let Him comfort them. Loving and trusting in God with your whole being is the first and most essential of all the aspects of what is spiritually implied in the symbolic use of ‘garment’.

Another crucial part of the garment will be to want God’s Will to be done, above and beyond anything else, first and foremost conceding your own will to the father’s Will. Hearing and doing what the father wants is the only proof that one loves God and the only proof that the father will accept. After all, it is the reason he is upset with the original guests, the fickle church-people of this hour. This is what has brought on his ire, causing him to tell his servants to take to the streets in order to make full and complete the bride and groom’s wedding party, to fill up his festive hall.

Pleasing God and accepting the invitation is rather simple. We must ‘put on’ his Word, so to speak, while finding his Will for us. It starts with believing His word, the Bible. The word used for “commandments” in the statement at the top of this page is not defined as a law as such, or in the usual sense as a demand, but rather it implies: an injunction or a precept, and more aptly: as an authoritative prescription recommended by a qualified physician as issued with trusted authority to a sick and needy patient.    

We strongly recommend that those who are interested in accepting the invitation to the wedding supper investigate for themselves how they ought to be clothed. How they ought to view it as a prescription for health. Health being the meaning of the greek word salvation (Soterio). Essentially God is asking those who accept the invite to love him, and to do the right thing as he shows them what that is. In order for this to occur an invitee needs two essential things: ongoing contact with his Spirit and contact with his voice via the ‘Word’, which is readily found via the Bible. There one may find all of God’s wisdom about how to have one’s spirit richly clothed with life. Loving God and keeping his suggestions, teachings and wise counsels are found in His prophecies, allegories; as well as testimonies of His obedient men and women who are clothed in His Word. These are the clothes which allow those that seek God to walk with him in faith and confidence to adhere to God’s will in this life.

In the process God is able to give that person a new identity, a new start and a new set of clothes for their new spirit, so that you will be loved and that they will be able to love God with assurity. You may ask us through the website more about the garments in which the guests must be adorned. They are not matters of mystical occult things. They are spiritual. Jesus’ ‘commandments’ (more like imperatives of health and wisdom) lead into richness which clothe his friends in health and strength, they provide shelter from the cold harsh cruelties of this world, against every onslaught and attack which life’s coldness may dish out. Clothe yourself in God’s love by obedience to his advice and counsel and you will not only have put on strength and courage to move along life’s pathway, but you will have secured a place at the wedding table and an eternal friend of God the Father.
